About QEII Halifax Infirmary

The QEII Health Sciences Centre is Nova Scotia's largest tertiary care hospital and the primary trauma centre for the Maritime provinces. Located in Halifax, it handles the most complex emergency cases and serves as a referral centre for the entire region. The emergency department operates 24/7 with specialized trauma, cardiac, and stroke teams available around the clock. As the province's main teaching hospital, QEII sees approximately 70,000 emergency visits annually.
